Student Care Center won second place in the National Sabic Mental Health Enhancement Award in the field of mental health improvement projects at the ceremony organized by the National Committee for the Promotion of Mental Health. The ceremony was  under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah in King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Foundation for Business Humanity on Monday 29 July 2019.
For his part, the head of the Center for Student Care, Dr. Meshaal Aqeel, said that the Center launched in 2014 with survey studies at the university to clarify the problems that must be studied and contribute to the treatment.  The center started with educational lectures for staff members and students to understand their needs and assess the psychological and health requirements to evaluate the course of the academic process from a psychological point of view. Furthermore, the educational lectures led decreased the percentage of psychological problems faced by students from 67% to 52%.
Moreover, Dr Al-Aqeel explained that the Center is committed to privacy in the information of the beneficiary and relies on complete confidentiality in solving problems. He added that the smooth of booking appointments has effectively contributed to the completion of many solutions to many problems quickly and professionally, in cooperation with faculty members and direct support from the President of KSAU-HS Dr. Bandar bin Abdulmohsen Al Knawy.
The award was presented in four fields, an award for educational programs in mental health, mental health promotion initiatives, improving performance in mental health services, and for scientific production and mental health research.
