KSAU-HS welcomed on Sunday 17 September 2017, the beginning of the new academic year by holding an orientation ceremony for its new students, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the College of Sciences and Health Professions. The ceremony was held in the Conference Center- Jeddah campus.
The ceremony started with verses of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming speech by Dr. Ahmed Sabhi- Assistant Dean of College of Sciences and Health Professions, he said that the university is delighted every year to accept new batches. Also, Department Heads delivered an introductory speech. After that, Student Club presented their activities and services, then University relations and Media Affairs talked about their programs and services, after that, Deanship of Admission and Registration defined their departments and answered the student’s questions.
Furthermore, the program also included four activities, the most prominent of which was the induction Exhibition that introduces the student clubs, INJAZ portal and the media center, in addition to the introductory tour of the college facilities, and the first meetings where they discussed the difficulties facing new students and how to overcome them.
This coincided with another ceremony for the Female-new students at 1 p.m which was started with verses of the Holy Quran, in the presence of the Deans, Department Heads and faculty members, followed by a welcoming speech by Dr. Areej Alawfi- Associate Dean, College of Sciences and Health Professions, she explained that achievement starts from first steps and success comes through efforts and the main objective of the program is to prepare new student for university life in order to achieve the best academic result. Then, heads of department delivered a word of welcoming and introductory about their academic programs.
In addition, the program also included an introductory tour in the college facilities as well as explanatory workshops to help students on how to overcome the obstacles and a simplified explanation of the use of academic and learning applications for students.
