Welcoming Event
The Admission and Student Affairs Department arranged a welcoming event for the new faculty and students. Among the attendees were the dean and associate dean of the college of medicine, in addition to the current students and faculty. The goal of the event was to allow for student-faculty interaction outside of the class environment,
A lecture titled “Media and Immunity”
Following the recommendations from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences about including educational concepts in the Islamic culture curriculum to increase awareness of the negative impact of the media on the youth, the college has conducted a lecture titled “Media and Immunity” delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Al Muhanna, the Manager of Education and Guidance Department of the National Guards western region
Hands-on CPR training
The College of Medicine has conducted a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training course for the first year students in cooperation with King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, part of the National Guards Health Affairs, and with the Academic Affairs Department of the western region, under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Ali, the manager of the CPR center.
Stroke Awareness Day
The College of Medicine recently participated in a campaign to promote stroke awareness. Students from the college, in cooperation with their colleagues from the Saudi Stroke Association, distributed promotional brochures and informational leaflets among the attendees.
