Academic Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in medicine with a GPA of not less than 3.5, or a bachelor’s degree in health sciences, dentistry, pharmacy or applied medical sciences with a GPA of at 3.75.
A TOEFL score of not less than 550, or an equivalent English language examination score, is also required.
Application Requirements:
- Completion and submission of application on-line
- Personal data, i.e. name, address, email, telephone number and other contact details
- Work experience and other educational experience since graduation
- Three letters of recommendation, written or typed on institutional letterheads, from people who have known you professionally for at least two years
- Copy of student transcript, Saudi ID, and verified original copies of qualifications.
- A personal statement (of 500 words or less) indicating why you are applying for the program and what use you believe the MME will be to you and your organization.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for success in the program and therefore applicants are required to provide objective competency in English through the admission interview and to submit results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or an equivalent examination.
- After the closing date for receipt of applications, all papers will be reviewed and tabulated according to GPA, experience, discipline, qualifications, personal statement, etc.
- According to vacant positions, suitable numbers will be selected.
- A shortlist will be compiled of those who pass the initial screening process.
- A personal interview is required and will be granted to shortlisted applicants.
- Final selection will be made according to criteria established by the program.
- Outcomes will be ratified by the Dean of the College of Medicine.
- Successful applicants will be informed of outcomes in writing.
- Unsuccessful applicants can receive feedback on the decision, should they request it.
Interview Process:
- All candidates will be treated in a fair and equitable manner and will be given equal opportunities to express and represent themselves.
- The duration of the interview will be no more than 20 minutes.
- Applicants will not be judged only on academic accomplishments, but also on potential to meet the requirements of the program and to graduate as skilled and effective health care educators equipped to take up positions of leadership with respect to curriculum and educational policies and procedures.
- The interview will be evaluated according to pre-specified criteria.
- Interviews will be held on specific dates during January.
- Interview panels will include faculty members of the College of Medicine and Department of Medical Education.
Acceptance Process:
Successful applicants will be sent letters of acceptance showing the date of program commencement.
Application Timeline:
The announcement, selection and acceptance process will be conducted before the end of the first semester of the academic year (in the middle of December) and will be announced on the university website in February.

- Is the course assessed?
Yes, assessment for each academic course block is both summative and formative.
- Are sessions in the AM or PM?
Sessions are usually between 1:00 and 4:30 PM, three times a week.
- What is the language of instruction?
English is the only language of instruction.
- Who is eligible for admission?
All Saudi nationals with the relevant qualifications are eligible.
- What is the minimum GPA?
The GPA for medicine is at least 3.00 and above, while other health sciences are 3.75 and above.
- Where will the MME program be delivered?
On the 2nd floor of the College of Medicine's Department of Medical Education in Riyadh.
- Is it possible to take the course online?
No.
- Is the course full or part-time?
It is part-time.
- Do I need to get approval from my organization?
Yes, it is the students' responsibility to get approval and to ensure that attendance requirements are adhered to.
- What is the minimum attendance required?
Not less than 75%; students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, examinations and assignments unless their absence is approved.
- Is the course accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education?
Yes.
- Can I apply if I am not a resident of Jeddah?
Yes, you can apply. There are, however, no accommodation facilities avaialble at this time.
